When Twilight Descended…

Have you ever been to that place?

The one where chastity seduces at all times of the day.

I did

As twilight descended.

The electric blue transcended into lilac

Blurring out the edges of definition

The lamp posts lit up

To make her glimmer with the stain of the morning past

Her stature made with stone washed bricks

Encased a mosaic beauty within them

A sisterhood of domes were spread comfortably

In the womb of six astute cylindrical minarets

While the fraternity charmed every tourist and worshipper

The vigilantes casted a spell five times a day

Warding off the evil

With a chant that traipeized into souls of

All that was animate and inanimate

She had laid a marble floor in her decent

Inviting you to free yourself of any burden

So it could eavesdrop on your silent wish

As the muezzin’s words lulled the atmosphere

So did her majesty put her surroundings in a trance

The fountain that danced in the celebration of her charms all day

Now sat still and tranquil

Finding itself to paint her reflection at the water’s edge.
